    Once when I was preparing to leave my children, I was trying to do the medical power of attorney for our children and I called the doctors office to see if I needed to get it notarized. They made a note in my file that my sitters, who were also patients, had the authority to act in our children’s behalf. It can never hurt to call the doctor’s office and let them know anyway.
