About Me

Hi, my name is Alissa. I’m a creative minded wife and mother of 6. My amazing husband of 20 years, Joe, is my hero. He is naturally self-motivated and that makes me want to work harder.  He can do just about anything, and I’m not just saying that. It’s interesting how when you get married you think you can never love someone more than you do on that day.  But as you live life together and go through trials and experience the world, your love grows deeper and stronger

Together we have six wonderful children.

So, I didn’t have much of a chance to learn the ways of the craftaholic. I first became interested in crafts in the early years of our marriage when I was introduced to rubber stamping.  I was hooked from the start, and my love affair with all things crafty began. Since then I have tried my hand at many different types of crafts. I’ve had booths at many a craft boutique. I would rather craft than clean the house, which has gotten me into trouble more than a few times when I’ve had unexpected guests. I’m working on getting my busy life organized and my home decorated. The walls in my home have been mostly bare for too many years than I care to admit.  I don’t have a real knack for decorating, but I figure I need to start somewhere.  So, I’m challenging myself and documenting here as I go.

Life is crazy with six kids. Finances are tight. Schedules are packed. But, a mom needs her creative outlet in one way or another, right? Sometimes (a LOT of the time) my ideas that seem small turn into much bigger projects than I expected. I tend to tackle a project by jumping in head first before my brain has a chance to compute the scope of the whole thing. A lot of the time, I need help, so I end up taking others down with me!  I also think I may have a disease. I call it “I can make that and sell it”. If you have a more “medical” term for this disease, please share it with me, I’d love to know. I’m hoping this blog can be the cure. Hopefully by teaching others how to make projects, I won’t think I have to sell everything!

Welcome to my little world, sometimes chaotic, always busy and maybe a little quirky. I hope you have fun while you’re here and maybe learn something new. Check back periodically as I will have tutorials and freebies for your enjoyment.
